Evelyn Williams photo[1810].jpg

Evelyn Faye Lynam Williams was born January 26, 1933 in Wilburton and was the second child of Robert Aubrey and Mary Belle Lynam. She passed away on May 30, 2021 at the age of 88 in McAlester, Oklahoma. She lived all her life in the Wilburton area and attended Wilburton High School. She was a member of CenterPoint Baptist Church and was often referred to as the “First Lady of CenterPoint”. Evelyn was a strong Christian and always served faithfully in her church as long as her health allowed. She was a cosmetologist and a former case manager with Oklahoma State Eldercare.  But her most enduring and challenging job was being a devoted mother to her two daughters, Linda Sharon and Mary Karen.  She will always remain the “Rock” of their lives.  When her own mother passed away, Evelyn became the role model and support for her younger siblings as well.  Family was always of foremost important to her. In later life, her joy was her grandchildren, then her great grandchildren and finally her Great-Great Grandson. She loved to play card games with her two sisters and anxiously anticipated a weekly phone call from her brother to reminisce old times. Her many friends and acquaintances frequently referred to her as a “very sweet lady” and her family knows that Heaven is a sweeter place today because she is there.

A memorial service in her honor will be hosted at CenterPoint Baptist Church on Friday, June 4, at 2:00 with Grand-Son-In-Law Rev. Daniel Miller officiating along with her Pastor, Rev.
