He was a State Qualifier in Pole Vaulting and Weightlifting, National Qualifier in Chute Dogging and Team Roping, Second Team Area Offensive Lineman, and the winner of the Joe Suttmiller Memorial Coon Hunt Youth Division.

To know him was to love him.

JT loved God, family, friends, fishing, working with animals, football, rodeo, playing with kids, hunting, trading anything, raising chickens, and helping his elders. It was not uncommon for him to trail his dad on hunts carrying water and lead the older gentlemen’s dogs through rough terrain. He was an incredibly hard-working young man and loved to build things. He became a regular at the Monday night sales in Indianola and came home with a variety of chickens, rabbits, tools, lumber, and puppies ready to turn his next profit. He loved listening to old country music, watching John Wayne, and YouTube videos. He loved skipping school on the occasional Thursday and going to Durant Stockyards with his dad to work the sale. He loved people and hanging out with family and friends. He never met a stranger. He loved convincing his momma to participate in his entrepreneurial passions. He was a dreamer with a huge heart and a great big smirky grin.
