David Brunk

In Memory of David Brunk

George David Brunk, 65, of Red Oak, OK passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at his home.

The memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Wilburton First Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Brady officiating.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Drain, Trevor Chance, Rob Reager, Steve Giacomo, and Rick Newsom.

David was born on April 19, 1957 in Sallisaw, OK to Stanley George and Tilda Mae Brunk. He married Amy Robison on January 3, 1997 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He enjoyed playing golf, tennis, and basketball. He loved fishing with Amy, especially if he was catching more.

He had a nickname for everyone. He called his girls Fred and Sugar Booger Bear. Most dads wouldn’t dance for their daughters, but David did. He was known to throw in cartwheels and toe touches every chance he could. Once he even wore a pink tutu. He never missed a ballgame or event they had.

David was a girl dad through and through, but he always said he was given two sons-in-law that he considered his own. He loved them for taking the best care of his girls and knew he could always call them for anything, anytime.

His family says that his heart grew when his grandbabies were born. They had him wrapped around their little fingers. Until his last day, he recognized their voices around him. He loved his family more than anything, but his grandbabies were most definitely at the top of his list.

David is survived by his wife, Amy (Robison) Brunk of the home; daughters: Kelsey Chance and husband, Trevor of Wilburton, OK and Sydnee Drain and husband, Zachary of McAlester, OK; mother, Tilda Mae Brunk of McCloud, OK; grandchildren: Dallee Scarberry, Harper Chance, Jeter Crockett, Lenix Chance, Parker Chane, Kimber Chance, Jaxon Drain, Sadie Drain; sisters: Judy Rowan and husband, Bill of Okemah, OK and Peggy Lackey and husband, Bobby of Wellston, OK; and several nieces and nephews.
