Paul L. Askew, age 90, of Red Oak, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at his residence in Red Oak, Oklahoma.

Paul was born in Red Oak, Oklahoma on June 1, 1925, a son of the late Jewell (Lambert) and Allie A. Askew.

Paul worked hard as a rancher. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Red Oak, Oklahoma, where he also served as a deacon. He served in the U.S. Army.

He was the husband of Carmelita (Sides) Askew. On December 24, 1946, they were married at Red Oak, Oklahoma.

Paul is survived by:

Daughters/Sons-In-Law: Paula Ruth Askew Brelsford, wife of Les, of Red Oak, Oklahoma;

Rilla Jo Askew Austin, wife of Paul, of Norman, Oklahoma; Rita Ann Askew Snellgrove, wife of John, of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Nephew: James Albert Askew, of Stockton, California

He is also survived by 4 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Services at First Baptist Church, Red Oak, Oklahoma, at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2015 with Rev. Johnny Montgomery officiating. Interment to follow at the North Rock Creek Cemetery, Red Oak, Oklahoma. Family will greet friends at the Waldrop Funeral Home, Wilburton, Oklahoma on Thursday, November 5, 6-8 p.m.

Verna J. Shadden, age 41, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Latimer County Hospital, of Wilburton, Oklahoma .

Verna was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on February 10, 1974, a daughter of the late Betty (Clements) and Billie R. Shadden.

Verna worked as a cashier at EZ Mart.

Gary W. O'Hern , age 79, of Inola, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Gary was born in Caddo, Oklahoma on July 27, 1936, a son of the late Irene (Tallman) and Roy Dale O'Hern, Sr.

Gary worked as a truck driver. He was of the Baptist faith. He served in the U.S. Army.

He was the husband of Carol (Vinson) O'Hern. On October 27, 1977, they were married at McAlester, Oklahoma.

Ronnie was employed as an exterminator. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was the husband of Lola (Knight) Paxton. On January 4, 1962, they were married at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Nephew: Tyslor Jones, of the home.

She was employed as an engineer line supervisor.

She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, of Wilburton, Oklahoma .

She was the wife of John Gaustad. On November 23, 1974, they were married at Phoenix, Arizona.

Clara is survived by:

Husband: John Gaustad, of the home.

Daughter: Brenda Gutierrez, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.

Sons/Daughter-In-Law: Richard & Jennifer Gaustad, of California; Donald Crouch, of California.

She is also survived by 9 Grandchildren, Several Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild.

Lila graduated from Panola High School in 1952. She attended Beauty School in California where she received her degree on January 4, 1955, and state board Cosmetology in Oklahoma in 1956.

Lila was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.

She was the widow of Richard Kirkes. On November 1957, they were married at Durant, Oklahoma.

Son: Lewis Kirkes, of McAlester, Oklahoma.

Daughter-In-Law: Lisa Kirkes (Smith), of Paoli, Oklahoma.
