Sarah Odell Weston

In Memory of  Sarah Odell Weston

Sarah Odell Weston, age 91, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Tidwell Nursing Home.

She was born in Dugginsville, Missouri on March 4, 1926, a daughter of the late Dellar (Evans) and Joe  Long.  She taught school at the age of 18 in a one room school house.  During World War II, she worked at Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she riveted doors on bombers.  She held various jobs throughout her life, being an employee with the local tag agency as well as a teller at Latimer State Bank.  She married Archie Herbert Weston October 4, 1948 and together they raised four children.

Odell loved flowers and working in her yard.  She was a passionate quilter and produced some amazingly beautiful quilts.  She was a member of the Wilburton Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed her friends at the Wilburton Senior Center.

She is  survived by:
Sister/Brother-In-Law:  Faye & Don Crozier, of Nevada, Missouri.
Daughter:  Daphane Burnett, of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Sons/Daughters-In-Law:  Dennis & Milena Weston, of Salina, Oklahoma; Danny & Stephanie Weston, of Wilburton, Oklahoma; Herb & Jeannetta Weston, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Darren Weston, Patrick Weston, Ty Weston, Danyale Stacey, Ashley Hepworth, Matthew Weston, Tanya Weston, Derrick Younger, Kevin Younger, Bill Burnett and Stephanie Burnett Pinkerton.  
She also has 14 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Joe Bill Long, Walker Long and Dink Long as well as two sisters, Ozell Long and Raye Woodward.

Memorial Service at The Bob Waldrop Memorial Chapel, Wilburton, Oklahoma, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017  with Rev. Richard Matthews officiating.

Kathy Lynn Watkins, age 49, of Stigler, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2018 at the St. Francis Hospital, of Tulsa,  Oklahoma.

Kathy was born in McAlester, Oklahoma on April 12, 1968, a daughter of the late Geneva (Stephens) and Adrain  Watkins.

 She was of the Baptist faith.

Kathy is  survived by:

Son/Daughter-In-Law:  Joseph & Kandarth Watkins, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.

Charles A. White, age 78, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, December 1, at his home.

Charles was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 16, 1939, a son of the late Dorothea Cally (Boyd) and Floyd  White.

Charles serve in the US Navy where he worked with the air craft.

He was the husband of Joyce  White.

Charles is  survived by:
Wife:  Joyce White, of the home.
Daughter/Son-In-Law:   Shawna & Michael Busby, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.
He is also survived by Granddaughter: Caitlin Busby, of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Frankie O. Roberts, age 84, of Quinton, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the McAlester Regional Hospital, of McAlester, Oklahoma.

Frankie was born in Crosslane, Oklahoma on June 3, 1933, a daughter of the late Eula (Work) and Russell  Egbert.

She was a  homemaker.  Frankie was the widow of Paul  Roberts. On February 15, 1949, they were married at Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, of Quinton, Oklahoma.

Frankie is survived by:
Daughter:   Paula Roberts, of Quinton, Oklahoma.
She is also survived by Grandson: John Roberts, of Quinton, Oklahoma.  Several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Roberts; brother, Troy Egbert; sister, Clara Beard.
Service at First Baptist Church, Quinton, Oklahoma, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017  with Rev. Eddie Dye and Rev. Charles Thomas officiating. Interment to follow at the Palestine Cemetery, Quinton, Oklahoma.

Billy E Johnson

In Memory Of  Billy E. Johnson

Billy E. Johnson, age 90, of Stigler, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 at the  Haskell County Nursing Center, of Stigler, Oklahoma.

Billy was born in Gotebo, Oklahoma on July 12, 1927, a son of the late Purnie Leon (Hobbs) and Charles Ivis Johnson.

He worked for the US Postal Service as a mail carrier.  Billy was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, of Shawnee, Oklahoma.  He was also a 3rd Degree Mason, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Lions Club member.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Billy was the widower of Doris June (McConnell) Johnson. On October 26, 1952, they were married at Hobart, Oklahoma.

Billy is  survived by:
Daughter/Son-In-Law:   Shelba & Carl Rudek, of Stigler, Oklahoma.
Niece and Husband:  Barbara & Mike Carpenter, of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma.  
Grandchildren:  Brian Johnson, of Florida; Kyle & Amber Rudek, of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Tyler & Rachel Rudek, of Edmond, Oklahoma; Bryce Rudek, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; Mason & Ashley Rudek, of Ft. Worth, Texas and Charles Johnson, of Ft. Collins, Colorado.  
Also survived by: 3 Great Grandchildren.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris; son, Mark Johnson; daughter, Diana Johnson; sister, Louise Lipps and brother, Charles Leon Johnson.

Dorothy was a  homemaker.

She was the widow of Raymond  Tinkey.

Paul James Redwine

In Memory Of  Paul James Redwine

Paul James Redwine, age 92, formerly of Wilburton, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Homestead Rehab Ctr, of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Paul was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma on August 6, 1925, a son of the late Artimissa (Graham) and Am  Redwine.

He worked in sales. Paul was a member of Calvary Baptist Church,  Wilburton, Oklahoma.  He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW, Talihina Blue Masonic Lodge, and the Gideon's.   

Paul served in the U.S. Army.

He was the widower of Marie  (Mitchell) Redwine. On January 21, 1944, they were married at Wilburton, Oklahoma.

Paul is  survived by;
Daughter:   Barbara Rowland, of Eagle, Nebraska.
Sons/Daughters-In-Law:  Paul & Dora Redwine, of Beatrice, Nebraska; William &  Cora Redwine, of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Sisters:   Elina Gaines, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Reba Cathey, of Ft. Worth, Texas; Eva Lee Rich, of Marble Falls, Texas.
Brother-In-Law:  Tommy Green, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  
Sister-In-Law:  Beverly Redwine, of Grand Island, Nebraska.
He is also survived by  6 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers, 5 sisters, and granddaughter, Annette Wright.

William Claude (Bill) Hall

In Memory of  William Claude (Bill) Hall

The Lord called William Claude (Bill) Hall home on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the age of 80.  

Bill  was born February 3, 1937, to C. L. and Ruth (Miller) hall in Hartshorne, Oklahoma.

Bill's family moved to California in 1948.  He graduated from Antioch (CA) High School in 1956 where he was an outstanding football player and track star.  The family returned to Wilburton in 1958 where he lived until his death.  Bill married Betty Ratcliff on October 17, 1959, and they recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.

Bill served his country in the U S Army for eight years from 1955 to 1963 as a supply sergeant.  Bill was an active member of Center Point Baptist Church of Wilburton and served as song leader for over 42 years.  He also taught Sunday School and was a Deacon.

Bill worked as Parts Manager for the Miller-Hall Ford Company before becoming a State Farm Insurance Agent in 1965.  After 50 years as a State Farm agent, he retired in December of 2015.  He was enjoying his retirement.  He was an avid fisherman and had learned to play the guitar.  Bill also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.  

Bill is  survived by:
His loving wife of 58 years, Betty, of the home.
Son/Wife: David & Deena Hall, of Colleyville, Texas.
Daughter/Husband:   Wendy & David Bevil, of Rowlett, Texas.
Sister:   Jeannetta Miller, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.
He is also survived by 4 Grandchildren:  Kelsey and Connor Hall, both of Colleyville, Texas.
Hannah and Madeline Bevil, both of Rowlett, Texas.  And numerous nephews and nieces.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father and a brother, C. L. Hall, Jr.

Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends who deeply love him.

James N. (Jake) Ward

In Memory Of James N. (Jake) Ward

James N. (Jake) Ward, age 82, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away peacefully from this earth, Friday, October 20, 2017 at Ennis Care Center, of Ennis, Texas.

Jake was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma on October 29, 1934, a son of the late Dora (Boatright) and GuyWard.

Jake served in the U.S. Army. He went to college andworked and retired as a machinist at Johnson & Johnson in Arlington, Texas.  Jake could accomplish anything he set his mind to do.  He was a man of many talents.  As a child, he would walk the mountains of the Kiamichi Range.  He loved outdoors, gardening, traveling, and the Cowboys!  Jake's greatest passion was the marriage to his wife, Rosemary, love of his life. He had a special place in his big heart for his brother-in-law, Gary Sherman, true 'buddies.'

He was a member of Mosaic Fellowship Church, ofGrand Prairie, Texas .

He was the husband of Rosemary(Etheredge) Ward. On May 1, 1972, they were married at Ft. Worth, Texas.

Jake issurvived by:
Loving Wife of 45 years: Rosemary Ward, of the home.
Daughters/Son-In-Law:  Terri & Duffey Todd, of Granbury, Texas; Tina Duque, of Lewisville, Texas.
Sons/Daughter-In-Law:   Chris & Connie York, of Arlington, Texas; Doug Ward, of Granbury, Texas.

J.C. Vester, age 91, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at his residence.

J.C. was born in Booneville, Arkansas on October 21, 1925, a son of the late Fannie Cathryn (Suttle) and James Vester.

J.C. worked as a teacher at Eastern Oklahoma State College, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.

J.C. served in the U.S. Army, 22nd Division.

He was the widower of Shirley(McCammon) Vester. On March 9, 1955, they were married at Stillwater, Oklahoma.

J.C. is survived by:
Daughter:  Catherine Vester, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Daughter-In-Law:  Kathy Vester, of McAlester, Oklahoma.
Brother-In-Law/Sister-In-Law:  Kenneth & Connie Zoger, of Norman, Oklahoma.
