Rebecca Morgan (Waldrop) Velazquez, age 36, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at her residence.

Rebecca was born in McAlester, Oklahoma on December 21, 1981, a daughter of Rick Waldrop and the late Cynthia  (Parker) Hodge.

Rebecca worked as a CNA/ Nurse Assistant at  the Emeritus Senior Living Center and Cherokee County Nursing Home, both in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  She was a member of the Love Light Christian Center, of  Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  She was a member of the Help & Crises/Onefire groups.

Rebecca is survived by:
Father: Rick Waldrop, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.
Son:  Skylor Velazquez, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Sister:   Sarah Waldrop, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Brothers/Sister-In-Law:  Jesse & Andrea Waldrop, of Park Hill, Oklahoma; Taylor Hodge, of Park Hill, Oklahoma.
Nephew: Parker Waldrop, of Park Hill, Oklahoma.  
Paternal Grandmother: Betty Waldrop, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.
Several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceded in death by her mother, Cindy Hodge; Paternal Grandfather, Bob Waldrop; Maternal Grandparents, Ralph & Marion Parker.

Service at the Love Light Christian Center, Tahlequah, Oklahoma, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12,  2018 with Pastor Donna Allen officiating  Interment to follow at the Tahlequah City Cemetery, of Tahlequah , Oklahoma.

 J.A. Eccles, age 90, of Red Oak, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at his residence.

J.A. was born in Antlers, Oklahoma on June 24, 1927, a son of the late Vesta (Williams) and James A. Eccles.

J.A. worked as a carpenter.  He was of the Assembly of God faith.

He was the husband of Teddie  (Davis) Eccles. On February 5, 1947, they were married at Paris, Texas.

J.A. is  survived by:

Daughter/Spouse:  Robin & Thomas Strohmeyer, of Red Oak, Oklahoma.
Sons/Spouses:   James & Robert Eccles, of San Diego, California; Randall & Tai Eccles, of Virginia City, Nevada.

He is also survived by 5 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

Bobbie was employed as a secretary for the State of Oklahoma.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, of  Wilburton, Oklahoma.

Eugene V. Raspotnik

In Memory Of  Eugene V. Raspotnik

Eugene V. Raspotnik, age 88, of Hartshorne, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the St. John's Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Gene was born in Cambria, Oklahoma on September 4, 1929, a son of the late Tillie (Boznar) and Valentin  Raspotnik.

Gene graduated high school at Wilburton in 1947.  He earned a Bachelors Degree in Animal Husbandry from Oklahoma A & M University in 1951.

He married Peggy Enis on October 22, 1954 at Bowers, Oklahoma.  They were married 51 years before Peggy's death on January 20, 2006.

Gene was a life long cattle rancher.  He owned Raspotnik Ranch LLC and raised registered and commercial Angus and cross bred cattle.  He was a member of the Latimer County Cattlemen's Association, the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association and a lifetime member of the American Angus Association.

He enjoyed ranching and baling hay and watching Texas Rangers baseball and Oklahoma State sports.  Gene and Penny were best friends and did everything together.

Gene is  survived by his daughter, Penny Raspotnik Jones and husband Tim Jones of Hartshorne, Oklahoma.  He is also survived by numerous cousins.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; parents, Valentin and Tillie Raspotnik; and one sister, Mary Jane Raspotnik.

Service at the Bob Waldrop Memorial Chapel, Wilburton, Oklahoma, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018  with Rev. Randy Waldrop officiating.  Interment to follow at the Wilburton Memorial Gardens Cemetery,  Wilburton, Oklahoma.

Jewelie DeNell Bullard

In Memory of  Jewelie DeNell Bullard

 Jewelie DeNell Bullard, age 56, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on  Friday, March 16, 2018 , at her home in Wilburton.  

Jewelie (Jewel) was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on December 10, 1961, a daughter of Wanda (Forwoodson) Bullard and the late Virgil Bullard.

Jewel graduated from Wilburton High School in 1980.  She loved to go to the banquets and very seldom missed one.  After graduating she went to beauty school.  She worked as a hair dresser for a few years before deciding to go to college to become a teacher.  She entered Eastern for two years.  From Eastern she went to Northeastern State University graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Special Ed.  Her first teaching job was in Alaska for two years.  Coming back to Wilburton she got a job at Wilburton grade school teaching Special Ed for a few years.  After that she moved to first grade and kindergarten for 17 years before returning to Special Ed for two years before moving to Panola School to teach Special Ed where she was at the time of her death.

Jewel is  also survived by:

Husband:  Gary Hill, of the home.
Son:  Bryce Livingston, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.

Dillard served in the U. S. Army.  He worked in the oil field.

Zola was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She was the widow of Leon  Wilson. On April 1, 1958, they were married at Concord, California.

R. Lionel Young, Sr., age 81, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 in Wilburton.

Lionel was born in Leedey, Oklahoma on March 27, 1936, a son of the late Verna (Cox) and George A. Young, Sr.

Lionel was an educator.  Taught 24 years in the Wilburton Public Schools and 8 years in Friona, Texas.  Lionel was a member of First Baptist Church, of  Wilburton, Oklahoma.

He was the husband of Suellen  (Rhodes) Young. On August 19, 1960, Lionel & Suellen were married in Antlers, Oklahoma.

Lionel is  survived by:
Wife:  Suellen Young, of the home.
Daughter/Son-In-Law:   Ramona  Hensley and husband James, of Yukon, Oklahoma.
Son/Daughter-In-Law:   Richard Young, Jr. and wife Lourdes, of West Palm Beach, Florida.
Lionel is also survived by Grandson:  Grant Beauchamp, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  
Great Granddaughter:  Madilyn Beauchamp, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Lionel was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, George Young.

Charles Eura Adams

In Memory Of  Charles Eura Adams

Charles Eura Adams, age 90, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Beare Manor in Hartshorne, Oklahoma.

Charles was born in Haileyville, Oklahoma to Della Retha (Parks) and Isaac Eura Adams on May 19, 1927.

Charles grew up in Wilburton greatly influenced by his grandmother Birdie Briggs Adams.  He graduated from Wilburton High School (he said he bled purple all his life); Eastern Oklahoma State College; received his bachelor and masters degrees from East Central State University; he  later attended Oklahoma University to complete his School Administration Certification.

He was a WWII Veteran.  He quit school to join the Navy.  He served from November 15, 1944 to June 25, 1946. After the war he returned to Wilburton to complete High school.

Charles married Phyllis Booth on November 5, 1948 and they had 69 memorable years together.

As an educator, he was very proud of being an English teacher, coach, Principal, and Superintendent.  He was very proud of his time at Battles, Gertie, Panola, and Wilburton.  He loved his students and stayed in touch with many from these schools. He spoke often of his former students and referred to them as "his kids".   He also worked for a time at the State Department of Charities and Corrections; Kiamichi Electric Cooperative; and Congoleum.

He retired as Principal of Wilburton High School in 1987.  He proudly served on the Wilburton School Board for 25 years.  He was a member member of the First United Methodist Church of Wilburton, a member of Lions Club, a Shriner, a member of Masonic Lodge 141 and loved regularly attending the Wilburton Senior Citizen Center.

Charles is survived by:
Wife:  Phyllis Jean Booth Adams, of the home.
Daughters/sons-In-Law: Charlette Adams Helms and husband Randy, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Toni Adams Reding and husband Curt, of Wilburton, Oklahoma;  Cindy Adams Smith and husband Michael, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He is also survived by Grandchildren:  Courtney Helms Norton, Adam Helms, Kirsten Reding, Lindsay Reding Austin, Kelsey Reding Martin, Elizabeth Smith, Aaron Smith.  
Great Grandchildren:  Reagan, Mackenzie, Hunter, Colten, Cameron, Cayson, Logan.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and brothers James Walter Clark and Billy Dale Adams.
