In Memory of Jim. E. Thornton

Jim E. Thornton, age 78, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Latimer County Hospital, Wilburton, Oklahoma . 

Jim was born in Pottsboro, Texas on February 19, 1939, a son of the late Fannie (Looney) and Roscoe  Thornton.

Jim was a self employed appliance repairman.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, of  Wilburton, Oklahoma where he served as a deacon & Sunday School Director for many years. 

Jim served in the U.S. Navy. 

Jim was the husband of Toni  (Garrison) Thornton. On May 17, 1960, they were married at Wilburton, Oklahoma. 

Jim is  survived by:
Wife: Toni Thornton, of the home.
Son:  Stephen Thornton, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.  
Daughters/Sons-In-Law:  Yvette & Joe Bray, of Wilburton, Oklahoma; LaDonna & Paul Enis, of Van Buren, Arkansas; Lesa & Wes Shelton, of Wilburton, Oklahoma. 
Brother/Sister-In-Law:   Bill & JoAnn Thornton, of Kingman, Arizona. 
Sister/Brother-In-Law:  Nita & Bill Emmert, of Wilburton, Oklahoma. 
Brother-In-Law: Jack Hensley, of Wilburton, Oklahoma. 
Also survived by  Grandchildren: Ryan Enis, T.J. & Brittany Bray, Andrew Enis, Emily Yvonne Enis, Taylor Bray, Stevie Thornton, Spencer Bray.  
Great Grandchild: Carson James Bray. 

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Helen Hensley; daughter, Mary Yvonne Thornton; granddaughter, Amanda Bray; granddaughter, Stephanie Enis; great granddaughter, Ryleigh Enis.

Service at Calvary Baptist Church, Wilburton, Oklahoma, at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017  with Rev. Willard Francis officiating.  Interment to follow at the Lutie Cemetery, Wilburton, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers:  Ryan Enis, T. J. Bray, Andrew Enis, Taylor Bray, Spencer Bray, Stevie Thornton, Emily Enis.  Honorary Pallbearers:  Kenny Schiwart, Richard Bowden, Dewayne Johnson, Doug Perryman, Rodney Knight, Frank Back.
