Edith taught school at Panola Public Schools from 1962 thru 1988. She is loved by many of her former students who either called her Mrs. Cullbreath or affectionately Granny. She was a ‘gifter’ as she loved to give people some of the things she had made. She painted at least 50 paintings, sewed her and her girls clothing for many years, crocheted, quilted, and was an excellent cook. She loved to camp and fish with her sisters and go on extended RV trips with her husband. Whatever campground she was in, she was sure to visit each site at least once to get to know her RV neighbors as she was a very social person. Edith was a member of First Baptist Church, Wilburton, Eastern Star of Wilburton, Rocky Point Homemakers, Hospital Auxiliary, Art Guild, VFW, Red Hatters, helpwed with Choctaw Fundraisers, Retired Teachers of Oklahoma, and the Panola Alumni Association.
