Walter W. Newsom, Jr., age 84, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the  Latimer Nursing Home, of Wilburton, Oklahoma. 

Walter was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma on November 19, 1935, a son of the late Lucille (Bloxham) and Walter  Newsom, Sr.

Walter worked as a welder.  He was a member of First Baptist Church, of  Wilburton, Oklahoma. 

He was the husband of Margaret M. (March) Newsom. On March 2, 1957, they were married at Poteau, Oklahoma. 

Walter is  survived by:

Wife: Margaret Newsom, of the home. 

Daughters/Sons-In-Law:   Kay & Danny Seaton, of Wilburton, Oklahoma; Melinda & David Brinlee, of Wilburton, Oklahoma. 

Sons/Daughter-In-Law:  Jody & Sandra Newsom, of Gowen, Oklahoma; Ricky Newsom, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.

Walter is also survived by 9 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Maryetta Enis.

Service at First Baptist Church, Wilburton, Oklahoma, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020  with Dr. Paul Brady officiating.  Interment to follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Wilburton, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers:  Dan Seaton, David Brinlee, Nick Potts, Brandon Seaton, Taylor Brinlee, Bobby Glenn.  Honorary Pallbearers:  Gary Bates, Chuck Glenn, Sr., Carl Dean Wooldridge, Johnny Jeffrey.
