In Memory of Elizabeth Askew

Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Askew, 74, of Wilburton passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020.

Elizabeth was born on January 10, 1946 in Marion, Louisiana to the late George and Earline (Markham) Reeves.

She retired from Franklin Electric 1996, where she was employed for over 15 years. After retirement gardening became one of her favorite hobbies. Her scientific approach of banana peels, bone marrow and sand assured that each plant grew to its full potential. Although she loved gardening, nothing compared to the love she had for her children and grandchildren.

Elizabeth is survived by her children: John Askew, Martha Askew, Ellen Jeffrey and husband, Johnny, and Angie Askew all of Wilburton; brothers: Billy Joe Reeves, Sam Reeves and wife, Elsie and Mickey Reeves all of Marion, Louisiana; stepdaughters: Barbra Murry of Camden, Arkansas and Gloria Askew of Leflore, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Jessica DeHart, Jeremy Askew, Elizabeth Askew, and Kenneth Carter; and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Emmitt “Bubba” Reeves; stepdaughter, Sandra Askew; and grandson, Chad Askew.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Centerpoint Baptist Church in Wilburton, Oklahoma with Rev. Byron “Bud” Vinson officiating.
